Sutra 2.1.10 is officially rolling out on the App Store! This update focuses on smoothing out the reading experience across your devices and making library discovery a bit snappier. Here is a breakdown of what is new in this release:

Reading Experience Upgrades

Live PDF Scroll Adjustments: You can now swipe up or down to adjust your PDF auto-scroll speed on the fly. This provides a more seamless, uninterrupted reading experience.

EPUB Rotation Fix: Your exact reading position is now perfectly maintained when rotating your device between portrait and landscape modes on the iPad.

iPad Tap Navigation: Squashed a bug where an overactive gesture recognizer was breaking tap navigation for iPad users.

Discovery & Performance

Smarter Search Views: Search results now respect your grid or list view preferences, and long book titles will properly wrap when using list mode.

Better Gutenberg Browsing: Project Gutenberg now defaults to all language filters, with the ability to select specific languages in the Library settings.

Under-the-Hood Polish: Overall library crawl performance has been improved, and the Stats screen will now filter out accidental sub-minute reading sessions for more accurate tracking.

Android Build Update

I am deep in the Android build. I built out a 10 phase plan to get to a test ready state, and we are in Phase 6 now, which sounds great! However what I realized during the actual build was that my phases were shaped like a bell curve than linear, with phases 6 and 7 disproportionately larger than the others. One lives and learns 🙂

Having said that, I have successfully created all the core scaffolding and app design, and all foundational libraries are now fully integrated. Right now, the focus is on building out the native readers for the different file formats, after which I’ll dive into the panel parsing functionality.

More to come shortly. Thank you all for the continued feedback and support!
